The EACML City Service Charge is assessed based on the type, use, and development status of the property. Different rates apply to residential, commercial, and undeveloped properties to ensure that billing reflects the applicable municipal service requirements.
Residential Properties
Residential properties, including applicable apartments and residential developments, are billed at the approved residential service charge rate based on the relevant property or billable area.
Commercial Properties
Commercial properties and spaces are billed at the approved commercial service charge rate. The applicable charge is determined based on the classification and relevant billing details of the property.
Undeveloped Properties
Owners of vacant or undeveloped plots are also subject to the City Service Charge. An applicable rate is charged for undeveloped properties to support the provision and maintenance of city-wide municipal services.
Properties Under Construction
Part-built properties and developments under construction remain subject to the applicable service charge. The billing treatment is determined in accordance with the property's development status and the applicable EACML billing requirements.
Applicable Rates
The current approved rates are applied automatically when invoices are generated through the Municipal Portal. The applicable rate and calculation will be reflected on the individual invoice issued to the property owner or account holder.
Rate Review
Service charge rates may be reviewed periodically by EACML in response to changes in municipal service requirements, operating costs, infrastructure needs, and other relevant considerations. Any approved changes will be communicated through official EACML channels.
