Sea Wall Safety & Protection

The sea wall and associated coastal structures within Eko Atlantic City are designed to provide essential coastal protection and are not designated for sitting, climbing, or recreational use. Members of the public are required to remain within designated and authorised areas when accessing the waterfront.

Do Not Climb the Sea Wall
Climbing, standing, or accessing the top or restricted areas of the sea wall is prohibited. The structure may have steep surfaces, uneven edges, and significant drops that can result in serious injury or accidental falls.

Do Not Sit on the Sea Wall
Sitting, leaning, or standing on the sea wall or its edges is unsafe and should be avoided. Visitors should use designated seating areas and public spaces provided for recreation and relaxation.

Stay Within Designated Areas
Residents and visitors should remain on designated walkways, promenades, viewing areas, and other approved public spaces. Restricted sections of the waterfront should not be accessed, regardless of whether physical barriers are present.

Keep Children Under Supervision
Children should be closely supervised when visiting areas near the waterfront. Parents, guardians, and accompanying adults should ensure that children do not climb, sit on, or approach restricted sections of the sea wall.

Respect Safety Barriers and Signage
Safety barriers, warning signs, fencing, and other access controls are provided to identify areas that may present a hazard. These controls must not be climbed over, moved, bypassed, or otherwise disregarded.

Enforcement and Public Safety
Unauthorised access to restricted areas may result in intervention by security or other authorised personnel. Members of the public are expected to comply with safety instructions and leave restricted areas when directed.

Protecting People and the Waterfront
The sea wall plays an important role in protecting Eko Atlantic City from coastal hazards. Respecting access restrictions helps protect the public while ensuring that these critical coastal infrastructure facilities remain secure and functional.

Stay within designated areas. Do not sit, climb, or stand on the sea wall.
