Pet Waste Management

Pet owners and handlers are responsible for ensuring that animal waste is properly managed and does not create a nuisance or health hazard within Eko Atlantic City. Pet waste must not be left on roads, walkways, landscaped areas, parks, or other public spaces.

Clean Up After Your Pet
Pet owners and handlers must promptly pick up and properly dispose of their pet's waste whenever it occurs in a public or shared area. Waste must not be left behind for municipal cleaning personnel or other members of the public to deal with.

Use Designated Waste Bins
Collected pet waste should be securely bagged and disposed of in an appropriate waste bin or designated pet-waste disposal facility where provided. Pet waste must not be thrown into drains, landscaped areas, water bodies, or left beside waste bins.

Keep Walkways and Public Areas Clean
Pet owners should prevent animals from fouling pedestrian walkways, entrances, recreational areas, landscaped spaces, and other locations where people regularly gather or pass. Where an incident occurs, the area should be cleaned promptly.

Responsible Pet Handling
Pets should be appropriately controlled when being taken through public areas. Owners and handlers should remain attentive to their animals and take reasonable steps to prevent them from causing a nuisance, damaging landscaped areas, or interfering with other users of the city.

Protecting Public Health and the Environment
Uncollected pet waste can create unpleasant conditions, contaminate public areas, and contribute to environmental pollution. Proper disposal helps maintain clean and hygienic surroundings for residents, visitors, workers, and other users of Eko Atlantic City.

Compliance and Enforcement
Pet owners and handlers are expected to comply with applicable municipal cleanliness and waste-management requirements. Failure to properly manage pet waste may result in enforcement action where applicable.
